Safina Said Kimbokota, born in 1982 in Lindi Region, Tanzania, is a contemporary sculptor and painter currently working in Dar-es- Salaam, Tanzania. She moved to Dar-es- salaam at the age of eight and has lived in Dar-es- salaam since then. She was born into a very creative family where her mother was a creative person and she was influenced from an early age by the wide range of creative expressions going on around her. In 2001, she began her studies at the Namasagali College in Jinja, Uganda. She then attended the Bagamoyo College of Arts in Bagamoyo followed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2011 at the University of Dar-es- Salaam in Tanzania. Since graduating she has been concentrating on developing a career as both a painter and a sculptor. She is a member of several organizations TNC for (AIAP), WAC (Women Are Creators), (FPASA) Fine and Performing Students Association), as well as having been involved in a variety of workshops, projects and group exhibitions inside and outside Africa.
